Lower School Student Max Turner Wins NAACP Award

Carolyn Borman
Stage IV student Max Turner earned second place for his beautiful drawing of a composite of the mug shots of the civil rights champions Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, and Congressman John Lewis in an art competition run by the Detroit chapter of the NAACP.  Max’s vision was to create one image and to feature famous quotes from each. At the top, Max added his own quote, which underscore his understanding of their sacrifice.

Max was recognized by the NAACP this past Sunday, April 7, with other award winners. He will also be recognized at the NAACP's upcoming 69th Annual Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner.

Congratulations, Max, on your talent and dedication toward achieving this award!
